Each month the Kiwanis Club of Safety Harbor recognizes an outstanding fifth grade student from five area elementary schools: Safety Harbor Elementary, Leila Davis, McMullen Booth, Eisenhower, and Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy. This friendship month of February we wanted thank all of the fifth grade teachers that support our Student of the Month program. When the trophies and cards of congratulations with $25 for the winning students were delivered to the schools there was a little surprise for the fifth grade teachers. A dozen doughnuts and several hundred child sized masks were included as a small thank you for all that our outstanding teachers do every day. This past week, we recognized a student of the month from Eisenhower Elementary. As it turns out, the teacher who nominated the student was none other than Pinellas County Schools Teacher of the year 2021! Congratulations to Sarah Painter...a well deserved honor.Sarah Painter is our 2020-2021 Pinellas County Schools Teacher of the Year! An educator at Eisenhower Elementary, Sarah has built a legacy of kindness, creativity and willingness to go the extra mile. "It's motivating to know that I am changing lives,” Sarah said. Congratulations, Sarah!

Sarah will receive a $7,500 furniture package from Kane’s, a cash award from the Pinellas Community Foundation, a $2,500 Nova Southeastern Scholarship, a $2,000 cash award from the Pinellas Education Foundation, an Outstanding Educator Ring from Balfour, a private suite and the first pitch at Rays Up For Education Night at Tropicana Field, and much more.
